New Beginners Photo / mini album tutorial. Any Size.

Hi everyone :-)
Have made an easy tutorial on how to make a photo / mini album from start to finish using the summer fun Bye the Sea paper collection from Graphic 45. This tutorial is for new beginner or just want to make a quick and easy photo album .This album can be made in any size you like and it requires no other tool than a pair of scissors, ruler and a score tool. Will show how to make pocket expanding pages, the binding, cover and decorate the album finish.

Video tutorial from start to finish.
The base for the album start at 4 minutes to 17 minutes and the rest of the video I show how to make pockets and decorate the album.

Will show tow to make this layered cover and will also give you some suggestion if you like an easy cover without any fussy cutting.

Inside cover and 1. front page with a photo mat inside.

1. Backside page with a pocket and 2. front page with a belly band.

 2. Backside page with a side pocket. 3 Page front with a pocket .

3.Page backside with pockets and tags cut out to hold the photo mat.
4 front page with some stripes to hold the photo mat.

4. Backside page with a angle pocket. 5. Front page wit a tag and a image to hold the photo mat.

5. backside page and inside back cover.

Backside cover with a photo mat inside the pocket.
Here you can write a note to the receiver and tell them to glue the photo mat on the backside after :-)

Measurements for the page but this you can make any size you like :-)
The finish pages for this album is 8 x 5 1/2

You can recyckle some house hold chipboard and glue 2 together or use a study chipboard.
On the photo it says 8 x 6 but the correct is 8 1/2 x 6.
Just add 1/2 inch more than the pages.

Will also show how you can decorate the pages more easy if you don`t like to fussy cut out the images.

Now it is finish to add you photos or give it as a gift to a friend :-)

Graphic 45 Featured Artist Anne Elisabeth Rostad and her incredible work! #graphic45
"My name is Anne Rostad and I live in Norway and I am a mother of 2 grown up sons who gives me so much pleasure. Creating has been my all time passion . It started when I was a little girl and had fun making animals and houses from things I found in the wood. Later at school we learned how to sew in girls class and I did not like that at all since I had to follow recipe, so i asked to be in the boy`s class where i could make things out of wood, clay and metal. Think it was then i really started love creating. As the only girl in class l i got make whatever I wanted so I had a lot of fun. Later I found out that sewing was a lot f fun when I could make whatever I wanted without any recipe. Started scrapbooking for about 7 years ago and since then I have in love with this hobby. The 1. paper I bought from Graphic 45 was the Fashionista Haute Couture and then I was hooked and tried to find out where I could get more :-) There is so much fun to do with this gorgeous and versatile papers and I love creating 3D projects and mini albums with a lot of detail to bring the projects to life. Many of the techniques i used in quilting I could use with fussy cutting and layering so it is very much the same, but more possibilities with papers. I am so happy and thankful to be a featured artist on the G45 blog again and I also want to thank you all for your support over the years.
                                   Have fun creating :-)

Graphic 45 Swatch Book and Paper Organizer Tutorial

Hi everyone :-)
Have made a swatch book for my Graphic 45 papers and stamps. Also made a 8x8 paper storage and you can find a tutorial on how to make it  bellow.I am re organizing my craft room and have over the years got so many G45 supplies so I thought it was a good idea to make this book so I can easy find the papers and stamps I am lokking for. In the end of this post I show how I store everything from G45. Used the beautiful A Ladies Diary collection and I am so happy G45 are bringing this collection back again :-)

Video

Lot of fun fussy cutting and all is build up with 3D foam.
Used coffee stain cheese cloth around the frame.

On the left is a swatch book fastened with magnets for my 6x6 papers and coordination papers.
The binder in the middle is from Tim Holtz and I painted it black.
In the pocket on the right side is a swatch book for all my G45 stamps.

There are templates that I cut out from the covers in the pocket and under the belly band.

Used a Ek success punch for the 6x6 and the 12 x 12  Core`dinations signature paper samples on the left and stamped all my stamps in the other book on the right.

Here I have added all the collection samples on the binder.

Used  the covers from the 12 x 12 papers and made it into a pocket.
On the left I punched out the 6x6 paper samples and write on the side what I have of the collection.
On the right I wrote what I made with the collection.

All the papers have a number so I easy can find the collection.
Left some unused numbers so I can add more in between. Sorted the papers by theme.

On the left is a pocket for some notes. The clock on the right is fastened with magnets so it can be plased on the inside cover when i use the stamp book.

I am so pleased with how this book works and now I easy can find coordinate papers for my projects :-)
The cover measure 12 1/2 x 11 and the spine is 2 x 12 1/2 inch.

Also made some organizers for my 8 x 8 paper pads.
Used the claw feet and ornate metal label holders also from G45 with stickers inside.

Backside.
So fun to fussy cut out all the beautiful ladies and flowers :-)

Also decorated the sides.

Seen without any paper pads inside.
Was short on paper so I had to glue 2 papers together side by side in the middle box and added some fussy cut out flowers over so it does not show up so much.

Aldo added decor paper on the bottom.

Tutorial and measurements for the 8x8 paper organizer.
I used 12 x 12 x 2mm chipboard from Bazzill. You can also layer some recycled chipboard together to make it study.

Cut the 12 x 12 chipboard in an angle like sown on the picture.

Make hinges from 1 inch cardstock and score at 1/2 inch.
fasten one hinge on the outside of the angle part and glue it to the outside of the 12 x 8 1/2 part.
Also glue a hinge on the inside to make it study.

Cut pieces to fit on the top of the bottom part.
I cut them at 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and front 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 minus the thickness of the cipboard on top.
You can also glue them on the outside ( then you cut the 2 pieces a bit wider ) but I wanted to be sure the 12x12  decor paper fit on the length.Great to use something heavy on the sides when you glue things together :-)

Peper is heavy so I made a support box under the box.
Cut 7 1/4 x 4 and glue 1/2 inch strips around with hinges,
Also added a lid on top with a bit thinner chipboard. Here you need to measure so it fit the height of the claw feet.

Glue the box in the middle. I also used felt on the feet and box so I can move it easy.

If you like to make this paper storage and not are sure how to I have a video tutorial on how to glue chipboard constructions together

Here is how I store my 12 x12 paper pads using paper trays from W R Memory keepers and added numbers on the sides. As you see there is plenty more space for G45 beautiful papers :-)

Have my 6x6 paper pads numbered in the bottom of this Råskog trolley from Ikea.

My tags, Alphabet stickers and coordination paper pads are stored in this Projections sticker stadion from Cropper Hopper.

I store the cardstock cut outs. chipboard cut outs and Ephemera cards inside this cabinet. All has its own number so I easy can lokk it up in my swatch book and find what I am looking for :-)

The stamps are also numbered with theme ans has its own number.
Klearly stamp storage trays are from Totally Tiffany.

The metal staples, washi tape and other accessories from G45 is stored in this mini organizer drawer inserts from Clas Ohlson ( Norwegian company) in this Alex drawer from Ikea.
Before I use to store them in a little chest with drawers I made a while ago but my staples are growing and all the goodies grew out of it lol.
A big thanks to my friend Linda at livartnow for tipsing me to this great drawer inserts system :-)
