Tutorial on How to make the gate fold box for the Mon Amour Mini Album

Hi everyone :-)
Here is a short tutorial with measurements on how to make the gate fold box for the Mon Amour gate fold mini album

Video of the finish box with the mini album inside

Front of the box with opening in the middle.
Measurements:
Cut out 4 of this panels from chipboard.

And 2 of this for the ends. Here you need to measure how thick your chipboard is and add it to 7 1/2 length.

And 2 of this for the top.

For the bottom part I cut out 3 of this 1/4 thick foam board. You can also use chipboard and cut 2 of this size and 3/4 for the sides to make a box.

Glue together the parts with strips of Tyvek envelopes on the outside of the top lid  then fold the parts  out and glue the Tyvek strips on the inside.

Then glue both sides on the bottom part with Tyvek strips 1 1/4 from the sides.Use strong glue here.

Shape it together and put under press with something heavy over night.
Punches are great to use :-) Also added a strip of masking tape around to hold it all n place .

There was something missing on the top so I decided to make a frame on the top

I cut out 2 pieces 9x6 inch chipboard and cut out 6 x 4 1/2 in the middle so the frame is 1 1/2 wide.

Added strips of decor paper and glued on the top.The metal buttons are also from G45.
Decorate with what you like. I used some swirls, flowers from WOC, and Prima.

On the sides i added metal door pulls and on the stand claw feet also from G45.

Here is how the box opens.

All folded out with the photo album inside.

The closure on front and backside and the bead caps for the tassels are from Butterbee scraps and here is the link to they`r store,https://butterbeescraps.com/product-category/new-arrivals/

And they lived happily ever after :-)
Supply list:
Mon Amour collection, claw feet and antique metal door pull from Graphic 45.chipboard, foam board, Tyvek envelope.glue and 2 knobs from TH

  11. Anne your creations are stunning! I really Love this project and have been inspired to make something for my BFF for Christmas using a different collection of Grafphic 45 paper (real fan of their designs). She and I have been creating for over 10 years, and as a very imaginative, tactile person I believe she would just love all the interactive elements to this type of design. Thank you so much for sharing this!

  14. What can I say that has already been said wonderful work and such detail in the instructions which make it so easy. I have made your mini journal using guilded Lily and love it, just waiting for a corner punch to arrive to finish it off then it will be my constant companion in my bag to use every day. Will be reminded of your talent every time I open my bag and pull it out to write notes in and dates. Thankyou so much for your inspiring videos.
