Hi everyone :-)
Here is a blog tutorial on how to make the base for the spice rack
using the 8 x 8 match book box from Graphic 45.
Cut the inside tray in half. It helps adding some masking tape before you cut into it

using the 8 x 8 match book box from Graphic 45.

Glue side pieces where you cut the drawer with hinges. I use 1 inch strips and score in half.
I used 3mm thick chipboard from Bazzil.
Glue them inside each side about 1/2 inch inside.
This I did when all the pieces was finished.
If you like a drawer on the front cut it out the same way using mask tape.
Glued chipboard walls inside the opening in the middle using paper hinges.
You may adjust the measurements depends how thick your chipboard is.
Sometimes the chipboard can fringe up a bit when you cut into it and then it is great to take som glue on before you sand it smooth.
Measurements for the drawer.
I put the chipboard I cut out from the box under the drawer before I glued the front on so the front piece goes a bit under, but it depends how low down you cut the front out on the box.
Here you can see it on the backside of the drawer.
Measure the shelves on how hay you want them to be.
Here I wanted a spice box to fit inside and measured a bit higher.
Also put in some 15-20 mm magnets so the mini album can stay in place without falling out.
If you put 2 magnets on top of each other inside the box with glue on top you can
pull inn the album and the magnets will attach in right place :-)
Here is the template for the top shape.
Have a video tutorial on how to make this shapes and here is the video.
Glue on the backside.if you like a tool hanging you can cut a 15 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch strip and glue it under on the backside.
There is little difference in height at the back because of the side panels that are glued inside so fill up with chipboard to achieve the same height.
Then I made one more shape 13 inch hay and glued it on the backside to make it study.
Now it is ready to be decorated with some pattern papers :-)
Measurements for the album cover.
You can use hair clips or stretchy cord for the page binding.
