Graphic 45 Typography Suitcase Desktop Organizer and configuration box

Hi everyone :-)

Have made a Suitcase Desktop Organizer and configuration box from the gorgeous and colorful Typography papers from Graphic 45 to hold some albums and cards. This papers are so fun to work with and can be used for a vintage grunge or colorful style. Used a lot of washi tape for this project. Love it!
Started this project last Autumn and did not have time to finish it then. Now that I have resign from all Design team I had the time to finish it. It is summer here in Norway now so I worked a little bit on it every day and for the rest I enjoying to be with family and friends outside in the beautiful sunny days :-)

Video

There will be 6 posts of this project because there is a lot going on in this box.

Here is one side of the box and I used metal staples and Ornate Metal Door plates and knob around the box. The closure I got from Ebay some years ago.
Lot of fussy cutting going on here and I used Claudine Helmuth multi matte to glue it on black cardstock and cut it all out one more time. All is distressed with various distress inks from Tim Holtz.

On the other side there is a configuration box. Used key and keyhole from G45 for the closure. Also used some magnets. HInges are also from G45.

To draw you must close your eyes and sing :-)
Painted random black the Ornate Metal Door plates and knob for the handle. Pencil sharpeners from Ebay.

It was so fun making this box :-)

In this box I can write my story :-) The typewriter is cut out 4 times in different sizes and layered wit 3D foam.

The book is made from a die from Marianne Design and layered 5 times.

Lot of fun fussy cutting and layering.

Envelope on the side made with WR memory keepers punch board.

Also made a tag hanging from the knob.
It is a good day to....

Write your story :-)

Cofiguration side

All open.

A lot going on here....

Made a lot of tiny books and this can be open and written something inside.
Right section.

Pencil holder and feather die from Tom Holts. Glued the feather on a pencil so it can be used.
Middle section.

Some of the miniatures I made.
Ink pad, candle and holder, tiny paper book, stamp pad and brayer.

Left section

On the backside of the metal closure I cut out the tiny book from the paper a several time and stitch it together.

Some pictures for the writing side :-)

There is 4 drawers and 4 sections to hold different equipment for a typewriter lol.

Here is place for a mini album, journal and folio. Also made a pencil holder that flips out.

Will show whats in the drawers in the next video / blog post :-)
Handles are from butter bee scraps.

Here is place for writing letters, notes and cards. 4 Side pockets to hold notes and magnet in the middle to hold clips and notes.

The box measures 16 inch wide, 7 hay,6 deep and made out of heavy weigh chipboard.

  8. Anne you are amazing. I LOVE everything you create. You are my favorite designer. I love the step by step instructions you provide as well as the encouragement that we too can make such incredible things. I think this project is my all time favorites but you always seem to outdo yourself again and then I have a new favorite. Oh how I wish to have many of your creations made by you to display in my home. Words fail me when I see how talented and imaginative you are.

  11. Until I saw your most recent project I hadn't thought much about this G45 line. It just didn't appeal to me, now I have the urge to go out and buy it and give it a try. You were able to bring something to it I hadn't considered before. Just when I think you can't out do your last project you surprise me and do something even more amazing.
I was so disappointed and surprised to hear you would not be staying of the G45 design team but I figured as much as you loved their papers you would still be doing projects with their papers on your own. I hope you enjoy your time off with your family and friends and enjoy your time off this summer. Hopefully it will inspire you to come back in the fall with great new ideas to make us ohhh and awe. Best wishes
