G45 Good Ol Sport Bargello quilt landscape layout - Tutorial

Hi everyone :-)
Made this LO for my sister and family. The like to play golf and The Good Ol Sport paper collection from Graphic 45 fits perfect for the theme:-)
Before I started with paper craft I used to make quilts and I thought the Bargello technique would be perfect to create a landscape background and the gay almost got a hole in one lol.
Used Black soot and Vintage photo distress ink around the inside frame to make it a bit more vintage look and tone down the bright and strong colors.
Used the 12 x 12 paper pad for this layout some twine that I braided and distress with black soot. Also used a wider twine that I colored black with color wash. The banner is made from a Stamping up punch and the letterers from a Martha Stewart Alphabet punch. Also used the beautiful flowers from Petaloo that  I also distressed a bit with black soot .
Graphic 45 Design team project.

In the frame my sister can place a photo she likes :-)

Video where I show some suggestions for  building up a Lo.

Some close up photos.
All the images are covered with Claudine Hellmuth multi matte to make them durable.

Here you can see some of Petaloos beautiful flowers :-)
 `
The frame is pop up with 3D foam and here is place fore a photo.
Used repositionable tape on the image so it can be removed.

Made a banner on the left top with Stampin up banner punch.

Tutorial on how to make a bargello paper background

Cut varying width strips of paper and some solid color papers until you have about 12 x 15 inch long. Good to have a large background paper to glue them on and this you can find in a office supply store.
Here I used glue stick from xyron. Be sure to take enough glue on since you are going to cut the stripes in small pieces. You can also use multi matte.

When all the stripes are glued on dry it well and cut in various stripes like show bellow.

Then glue all ste stripes on a new background paper and offset the stripes to create a landscape.
Here I used multi matte.
First Itook multi matte over the whole paper first to to avoid shrink.. Also took multi matte over the stripes.

Here are some more suggestions on how to create a simple LO

Select a background paper and cut out the inside of the frames 12 x 12 paper. There you cut off can be used for something else :-) If you are hanging it on a wall it can be good to have a chipboard plate on the back.

Select some images you want to use for decorations.

Now you can put in some photos before you glue it down and if you put 3D foam under the frames you get more dept to it.

Or you can put in some decor paper and glue some small photos on.
The bow is made from a strip of paper that I used multi matte on and folded it to a bow.

Supply list:
Good Ol Sport,twine.multi matte,Xyron glue,Petaloo flowers, chi
pboard, distress ink, color wash, black Zig pen
and a good cup of coffe :-)
