Masculine magic gift card with a secret pocket, Base card tutorial - Pion Guest Design team project

Hi everyone.

Made a gift card for fathers day and had a lot og fun fussy cut out this manly images with the wonderful Till Far ( For Father ) papers from Pion Design.

Wanted to make the gift card a bit special with a hidden pocket for the gift card and also so it can be used later as a photo display. The card measure 8 1/2 x 4 1/2

Here is what I came up with :-)

Fussy cut out the images and covered them with Claudine Hellmuth multi matte. Then outlined each image with a Zig pen to give it more dept. Glued all together on a plastic sheet to make a pocket so the tags on the front can be taken out.

Happy fathers day is fussy cut out and layered with gray paper and glued on with pop dots to give it some dimension.

When you open the card the right way no pocket can bee seen.

Magnet behind the hat to hold some tags. On this side a personal message can be written to the receiver :-)

When the card open from the left side the pocket with a gift card shows up.

Pocket with tag. The fussy cut out butterfly has a magnet behind to hold the other tag.

All way open and there can be placed some photos on the strips and right side.

The cogs are from a Cheery Lynn die.

The card can also be folded like this.

Measurements for the card. It helps to draw some guide lines so you know the strips will be same glued on. This is emportant to make the card work.

You can make the card any size you like :-)

 Cut 3 strips of paper ( you an also use 2 if the card is smaller ) Fold them over as show in the picture with about 5 layers of paper on top of each other to make the stripes " build up " a bit.

Glue the stripes a bit on the outside like show bellow.

Fold the hinges up and plase the other paper over. Glue on so they meet the lines.

Ribbon can also be used and then you can glue it on like this with a bit space between the papers.

This is a bit more easy the first time and you still can glue stripes of paper over

Now the card is ready to be decorated with pattern paper and glue pockets over.

If you make pockets and the same pattern paper on each side you can trick the recipient with and adding a cheat patch in one pocket and gift cards in the other :-)
